What We Do

Who We Train & Why

Sustainable inclusion requires that everyone who touches the life of a person with disability – from health worker to village elder – understands disability rights and referral pathways.

Community Health Promoters (CHPs)

Training on early identification of disabilities, basic screening, referral pathways, and home‑based follow‑up. CHPs become the eyes and ears of the health system in remote villages.

Healthcare Workers

Hospital staff, clinical officers, and nurses receive training on disability mainstreaming, respectful communication, and making clinical services accessible to persons with disabilities.

Trainers of Trainers (ToT)

Community Health Assistants (CHAs) are trained as ToTs to cascade disability inclusion skills to CHPs at sub‑county level, ensuring sustainability.

Local Leaders & NGAOs

Chiefs, religious leaders, and National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs) learn about disability rights, referral coordination, and how to support inclusive community planning.

Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs)

Leadership, governance, advocacy skills, and how to hold service providers accountable – strengthening OPDs to become effective self‑advocates.

Data Capture & Referral Tools

Consistent use of standardised referral forms and disability data registers – improving coordination and evidence‑based decision‑making.

Impact

What Changes After Training?

  • Earlier identification of children with disabilities – before complications set in.
  • Fewer missed referrals and stronger feedback loops between community and facility.
  • More persons with disabilities registered with NCPWD and accessing cash transfers.
  • Reduced stigma and discrimination in health facilities and communities.
  • OPDs that advocate effectively for inclusive county budgets and services.
